I have been interested in photography all my life.
I started taking photographs at the age of 11, when
my father gave me my first camera. An uncle, Fr. Brendan
Duggan, gave me another one when I was 14 and for me
there was no looking back.
In 1991 I produced a series of postcards for Treaty
300, which commorated the signing of the Treaty
of Limerick in 1691. In the same year I enrolled in
a photography course in Dublin. Soon after, I entered
and came second in the 1992 Fuji Portfolio Awards, which
took place against all photographic students in the
country.
The following September, I was offered a place on the
Cross Border Partnership to go to the United States
for three months. I then received my City and Guilds
Cert in November of 1993.
In 1994, I produced a series of work which was exhibited
in Limerick City Hall for two weeks.

I then went on to start work in a Dublin photographic
studio processing and printing photographs. Finally,
I began my own freelance business in 2000, working for
the University of Limerick and the Limerick Leader.
I am a Licentiate member of the IPPA.
This year I received two national awards from the Irish
Professional Photographers Association for my wedding
work. I also received several national awards for my
work. It is nice to be recognized by my peers. It makes
my work all the more satisfying.
At age 31, I am still passionate about photography more
than ever. This website contains a selection of my work
from weddings, portraits, Limerick landscapes and night
shots.
